Shabbat Shalom my friend

I hope you are all safe after your historic snow storm. I had the best Shabbat so far, I go to spend it with my friend Lorrie Wilkes, 25% Jewish on her mothers side..But we were together and we had a wonderful time.

It was another great week with projects moving along and more exciting things to share. The most exciting thing so far has been working on a promo for a band that was invited to South By Southwest and needs to raise some money. So I got to help them with the lyrics and while doing that I shared a poem I had written about Armenia which they put to music…I will of course share it once they are done producing it.

The weather has been fall like her so no beret, just me and my yarmulke, and some very interesting looks.

All is well and the adventure continues.

Shabbat Shalom

Shabbat Shalom my friend

Another great week! I have been working with a number of other NGO’s besides Peace Dialogue and we have developed plans for projects. One is to tutor students in english who can not afford tutors, seems the school system is not so good at teaching english. More than just english, the project will teach life skills and entrepreneurial thought, not something that is even discussed very often here in Armenia. The other project will be a fundraising one to help out an after school program that recently began operating in a new building built by diaspora Armenians and the Italian government. The building was built with a finished and accessible roof that gives the most magnificent 360 degree view of the mountains surrounding Vanadzor. We are hoping to help start a new culture of Armenians in Armenia supporting local NGO’s by making this an exclusive event that will become the event to be at. One can hope, I also still continue to look for other projects to get involved in. Lots of stuff to help out with here.. On this point, if you know of any Armenians who might want to know more about what is happening here I am happy to correspond with them, please do give them my email address

On the Jewish front I just received a box of stuff from my most wonderful son and daughter in law that included lots of stuff I needed like my extra computer charger but MOST IMPORTANTLY, a new kiddish cup. Turns out that my recently purchased cheap stainless steel cup has some type of chemical reaction with my kiddush wine that makes the wine taste real bad.. I will use the new one tonight, the excitement grows.

If you do not want to receive these emails anymore please tell me and I will take you off the list…

Shabbat Shalom
